Credentialing is how insurance payers verify a provider’s license, education, and background. Enrollment is how you get approved to be in-network with each plan. You can’t bill a plan as an in-network provider until you’re enrolled with it.
Each payer sets its own timeline, and it varies by payer and by how complete your application is. DMI prepares complete, accurate applications, follows up with payers, and keeps you updated on status so a missing document doesn’t hold things up.
Typically your NPI, a CAQH profile, your license information, and malpractice insurance details. If you don’t have everything yet, our free Credentialing Readiness Check shows you what’s missing, and you leave with a clear checklist whether or not you hire us.
Generally, you can’t bill a plan as in-network until you’re enrolled with it, and effective dates differ by payer. That’s why we recommend starting early, before you open or add a provider. Ask about your specific payers on your readiness check.
Credentialing is priced per payer, with a one-time setup fee. Bundle pricing is available when you enroll with multiple payers. You can see current prices on our Plans & Prices page.
Credentialing isn’t one-and-done. CAQH re-attestations, license and malpractice expirations, and payer recredentialing deadlines all come back around. Credential Watch tracks those dates and alerts you before something lapses.
